INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION SHOW TO HE HELD AT EXPO CENTRE SHARJAH FROM NOVEMBER 26 TO 30

SHARJAH

Students seeking to pursue higher studies will be presented with a treasure trove of opportunities when the fourth edition of International Education Show gets under way at Expo Centre Sharjah from November 26 to 30.

Registering considerable growth, this year the show is featuring around 100 acclaimed institutions of higher learning from Australia, Canada, Germany, Hungary, India, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States and the UAE.

The profile of exhibitors covers universities, colleges, polytechnics, IT institutes, business schools, technical management training centres, medical schools, hotel management institutes, fine art schools, language centres, aviation colleges, distance-learning institutes, and other tertiary institutions.

The show is also showcasing student publications, banks engaged in providing loans for educational purposes, professional examination bodies and immigration consultants.

The UAE education sector, particularly the area of higher education, has of late been experiencing rapid expansion. This may be attributed to several factors including rise in student in-take in public schools, fall in dropout rates, government's strong Emiratisation drive, and the country's growing expatriate population.

The number of students passing out of UAE's schools is more than 10,000. Almost all these students will be looking to pursue higher education either in the UAE itself or abroad. What these students and their parents will be searching for will be an event like the Education Show where they can browse through a host of programmes from the UAE and several foreign countries and evaluate them with the help of the institutions' representatives then and there.

The Education Show will also be a good opportunity for working executives to take up an evening or distant-learning course that will help advance their careers.

Apart from students and parents, student counsellors, policymakers, researchers, teachers and officials from local universities and agencies will also throng the venue on the lookout for opportunities to enrich their curricula and explore tie-ups with foreign educational institutions.

As an added attraction, there will be raffle draws at the show in which laptops and other fabulous gifts will be given away that is sure to help the lucky winner in his or her higher education in a big way.

The Education Show is a joint initiative of the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Expo Centre Sharjah and is sponsored by the Emirates Nationals Development Programme (ENDP) with the support of the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (TANMIA) and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
